With skilled hands and a commitment to tradition, the masseria emerged from scratch as a true work of art. Crafted by talented Apulian artisans using the local stone known as "Pietra Leccese," this architectural gem showcases a mesmerizing display of arched passageways and majestic vaulted ceilings towering four meters high. Every detail tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship, resulting in a masterpiece unlike any other.

In July 2020, under the expert guidance of Architect Raffaele Centonze from Lecce, the masseria underwent a magnificent extension and complete restyling. The transformation breathed new life into this remarkable estate, blending the charm of the past with contemporary allure.

Stepping through the main gate, you find yourself instantly immersed in the property's vast olive grove, spanning over two hectares. The ancient olive trees, standing as silent witnesses to the passage of time, carry with them the tales of heritage and cultural richness. Their presence creates an atmosphere of tranquility and connection to the land.

The masseria consists of a main building and a separate guest unit, each designed to provide comfort and serenity. Within the main villa, an open-plan fully-fitted modern kitchen awaits, equipped with all appliances, utensils, and two spacious fridges. Gather around the ancient oak kitchen table, which can accommodate up to ten guests when fully extended, and savor delightful culinary experiences. The dining area boasts an impressive open fireplace crafted from the local "tufo" stone, adding a touch of rustic elegance.
Meanwhile, the cozy living area offers a heaven for relaxation, whether you choose to unwind, watch TV, or simply immerse yourself in the natural beauty surrounding the masseria. Both the kitchen and dining area provide access to the internal courtyard, inviting you to step outside and enjoy the captivating views of the lawn and olive grove.

Adjacent to the kitchen, a utility/storage room awaits, complete with a washing machine, dryer, and a convenient guest toilet featuring a shower. This thoughtful design ensures that all your needs are met during your stay, adding to the comfort and convenience of the experience.

When it comes to the sleeping quarters, the masseria offers a collection of enchanting spaces. The master bedroom, adorned with a four-poster king-size bed, closet, cabinet, and desk, provides a private sanctuary for relaxation. An en-suite bathroom with a shower, a TV, and a Nespresso Coffee machine further enhance the luxurious ambiance. The master bedroom also grants access to a private garden, allowing you to indulge in the serenity of nature at your leisure.

An additional twin/double bedroom, complete with an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower and a TV, offers a delightful retreat. Here, a desk awaits, should inspiration strike or work need to be done. This bedroom also provides access to a private garden, inviting you to bask in the beauty of your surroundings.

Two additional twin/double bedrooms are available, sharing a spacious family bathroom adorned with a bathtub and a separate rain shower. These rooms can be interconnecting, providing a flexible arrangement for families or groups. One of the twin/double bedrooms is equipped with a TV and a DVD player, perfect for moments of entertainment or relaxation. Additionally, a desk is available, should you require a quiet space to gather your thoughts or attend to important tasks.

Nestled just 30 meters from the main building, between the kitchen/living area and the sprawling lawn, a second independent unit awaits. Built with stone following the traditional shape of a "pajara," a trullo with a flat roof, this charming space features a twin/double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom equipped with a shower and a TV. It serves as an ideal retreat for teenagers, a nanny, or visiting guests, ensuring everyone finds their own slice of comfort and privacy.

The masseria offers ample opportunities for al-fresco dining, relaxation, and entertainment. From the inviting sun-loungers to the cozy sofas, you can find your perfect spot to unwind and bask in the enchanting atmosphere. Discover two shaded dining areas, one nestled within the landscaped gardens and another in the main courtyard, providing delightful settings for memorable meals and joyful gatherings.

As the sun sets, venture up to the roof terrace and indulge in an Aperol Spritz aperitif. From this vantage point, witness the breathtaking panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see. The gentle slopes of olive groves and the picturesque white-stone villages paint a mesmerizing picture of tranquility. On exceptionally clear days, you may even catch a glimpse of the Adriatic sea and the distant shores of Albania, reminding you of the boundless beauty that surrounds you.

In consideration of your comfort, all windows are equipped with mosquito nets. Additionally, each of the five bedrooms, the living room, and the main corridor are equipped with air-conditioning, allowing you to find respite from the summer heat whenever needed.

As you embark on your journey at this magnificent masseria, let the craftsmanship, natural beauty, and serene surroundings inspire you. May every moment within these walls fill you with wonder, allowing you to create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

PLACES TO VISIT

OTRANTO

A short drive from the Masseria, Otranto is a popular destination for Italy’s jet set.
Among the must-see sights are the Duomo, dating back to the 11th century with some internal columns allegedly from a temple dedicated to Minerva which has been restored to its original form and the dramatic five-sided Castello Aragonese, which has cylindrical towers and a moat.

LECCE

This ancient and beautiful city is known as the ‘Florence of the south’ because of the ornate Baroque architecture. Unlike Florence, the buildings are created from the local stone, pietra leccese, which adds to the city’s luminosity and appeal.

Lecce is a lively city, popular with Italians and non-Italians alike. It is usually buzzing with life even late into the night in autumn and winter. There is always something going on, whether it be a market, street theatre or just the evening passeggiata. Apart from the designer shops and great restaurants, there are stunning sights like the half buried Roman amphitheatre near piazza Sant’Oronzo. The Chiesa di Santa Croce with its richly decorated façade and rose window is worth a visit as is the town hall, the Palazzo del Governo next door. Along Corso Vittorio Emanuele 1 the Duomo, with its 210 foot bell tower, is considered one of the most important in the whole of Italy. Go along via Palmieri to see craftsmen working on the local stone. Don’t forget the Orto Botanico di Lecce – the Lecce Botanical Garden, located in via prov. Lecce-Monterone. It covers just over 5 acres and is under the auspices of the University of Lecce.

Rest of Salento:

SANTA MARIA DI LEUCA, CASTRO and the GROTTE ZINZULUSA, GALLIPOLI, SPECCHIA, GALATINA, MAGLIE, POGGIARDO, NARDO.

Rest of Puglia:

ALBEROBELLO, OSTUNI, GROTTAGLIE, MARTINA FRANCA, ALTAMURA.

Also recommended a visit to Matera in Basilicata, half an hour drive from Bari.
